Sebuah Monument Berbahasa Inggris di Bekas Benteng Probolinggo

Dulunya monument yang teronggok di sekitaran bekas benteng Probolinggo ini kami kira kerkhof, ternyata sebuah momument yang menuliskan peristiwa tahun 1813 dan berbahasa inggris. Kurang lebih tulisannya :

"Sacred

To the memory of

Lieut. Col Jamesfraser and Cap. Jamempherson

Or his majestys 18th highland regiment

Who were barbarously murdered by a band of insugents

Near Probolingo on the night of the 18t

Of May 1813

This monument is erected over the remains by their brother

Officers as a mark of the.......steem in which

They held their worth

And

Virtues"
